BSc Development and Economics

Developed by academics at LSE, this degree will give you a thorough grounding in the principles of economics, sociology and human geography in relation to development. You also will study solutions to contemporary global development inequalities.

By studying this degree, you will:

  • understand contemporary solutions to global development inequalities
  • study the fundamentals of economics, sociology and human geography subjects in conjunction with development.

200 and 300 courses

  • Macroeconomics
  • Microeconomics
  • Poverty and development
  • Economics of development
  • One 300 course from Selection groups D or E plus
  • Two 300 courses from Selection group D plus
  • One 100, 200 or 300 course (or two half courses) from any of the Selection groups

This degree will help to prepare you for careers in areas of diplomacy, government, and consultancy. You could also gain entry to a master’s programme in this field.

This BSc will help you to question and analyse information, develop arguments, and boost your analytical and communication skills – all of which are valued in management-related roles.
